Payquill
Hours logged, pay explained
Your hours. Your pay, explained.
Payquill is a personal hours ledger for hourly workers in the United States. Record shifts and breaks, then see how your recorded time becomes a gross pay estimate under the rules you select. A complete pay-period total is available once the overlapping workweeks are confirmed and their calculations are supported.
Two overtime profiles
- Weekly overtime (W40): Regular time up to 40 hours per workweek, then overtime at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
- Daily and weekly overtime (D8W40): Daily overtime after 8 paid hours in a workday, up to 12 hours. Time already classified as daily overtime is excluded from the weekly threshold; remaining time above 40 hours per workweek is weekly overtime. Both overtime categories use 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Under D8W40, a workday with more than 12 paid hours or a workweek with paid time in all seven workdays is outside the supported calculation. Your recorded hours remain available, but no pay amount is shown for that week.
The workweek and the pay period are kept separate, so a week that spans two pay periods is handled as one week.
Every amount has an explanation
Open a shift to see the recorded minutes, hour categories, rate, multiplier and rules behind its estimate. Follow the workweek to see which shifts contribute to weekly overtime, including shifts in another pay period. Before saving an edit, see the affected shifts and periods. If an amount cannot be calculated, Payquill explains what is missing or outside its scope.
